The Christmas season has always been a very special time of year for me. It has always allowed me to reflect on those who I love and have come to love even more than I do throughout the year. Sure the flurry of running around shopping is something that many, including myself don’t enjoy, but I remind myself what this season is about.
All of us come from families, some are more blessed than others. In a world where the human spirit is often held in high esteem, our actions often betray the words we utter about how valuable we view one another and the people within our families. We all crave and deserve to be held, affirmed and loved from our birth to our death. Without those vital elements we often live life in a way that destroys our spirit. Many things can give us strength and I am truly blessed to have been born into a family that nurtured my soul, but I am not naive enough to believe that others were offered the same benefits.
So I will simply end this musing with this thought and request. A simple act of kindness, no matter how small, or how seemingly insignificant is something all of us can offer to one another. If each of us offers another soul a bit of our own – if even in the smallest of ways we will all enjoy this season and our lives in a way that seems difficult to comprehend.
And in that small way, we will all share in the spirit of the holidays and well beyond.
I wish each of you the kindness and contentment you deserve. Happy Holidays.
